A Matter of Public Record

Although it would seem that the new information age has created an increase in convenience and social networking, there are two sides to every coin, and Facebook is no exception. With an Oscar nominated movie, over six billion users and one of the wealthiest men on the planet at its helm, it seems hard to believe that Facebook could be responsible for an abundance of bad press. In recent months however, the social networking site has found itself at the epicenter of a backlash of information.
Amidst rumors of crime finding a connection through Facebook, with criminals messaging each other about illegal activities on the site, and even people being robbed when their status shows that they are out of town, Facebook is now able to add another notch to its belt of participation in aiding criminals after a man was found guilty of polygamy due to his activity on the site.
Each person's profile reveals an abundance of information about the user, usually relationship status and likes and dislikes. This would be the first example of a user facing possible jail time for updating his marriage status. After de-friending his first wife and adding his second to his profile, the jig was up and the site made public to the press and local law enforcement agencies that a crime had been committed.
Although it remains to be seen whether wife number two was aware of the presence of a wife number one, the only way she seemed to find out after the fact was through whisperings on Facebook. Utilizing public records as a resource can be a more authentic and trustworthy way to gather information on potential life partners. It may be more time consuming and less interesting than Facebook stalking, but using the services found on Public Record Finder to conduct your search will save you time, effort and protect your sanity.
